It’s time to put away your stretchy pants and put on your party pants (or at least your best red suit) because it only takes one look at our jam-packed events calendar to see that Beaumont knows how to get festive. Indeed, you could be out celebrating every night of the week because ‘tis the season for holiday parties and events galore. Here are your best bets for getting in the holiday spirit in Beaumont and closing out this decade with a bang.

All of the Lights – December 4/5

Cue Kanye because Beaumont’s about to get lit. No, not like that. J The Downtown Event Centre is hosting its annual tree lighting this Wednesday (the tallest in town!) with fireworks, food, and fun thanks to special guests like Frozen and Frosty. The following day, AMSET is hosting its annual shindig on Thursday with the tree lighting, pictures with Santa, and letters to the North Pole.

Stock Up for Everyone on Your List – December 5-7

The Junior League’s Main Street Market is a great place to get your last-minute Christmas shopping done. Boasting 100 of Texas’s best local merchants, artisan crafts range from gourmet foods to handmade jewelry. If you need a unique gift for that hard to shop for human, your best chance is to find it here. Plus, you can feel good knowing you’re supporting an area non-profit.

Go Back in Time – Dates Vary

Experience Christmas by candlelight at the John Jay French Museum on December 6, a Vintage Christmas at the Chambers House on December 12, and Christmas in Boomtown on December 14. Think caroling, hayrides, crafts, and seasonal treats as an ode to the way things used to be (when we weren’t distracted by TVs and technology).

Go Green this Season – December 7-21

We may not get a white Christmas in Texas, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to decorate. Stroll through the Shangri La Botanic Garden as it’s decked out in lights and turned into a magical winter wonderland the best way we know how. There are special events all day on the 14th from community decorated trees to the Children’s Garden being transformed into Candyland.

Get Festive – Dates Vary

Music, movies, and musicals all play a vital part in getting in the holiday spirit. Thankfully, all the classic movie nights at the Jefferson this month are holiday favorites you can binge on year after year like Home Alone, Elf, Polar Express. Tracy Byrd will also be in town performing his chart-topping tunes for a one-night Christmas special on December 12. For a fun family outing, the Beaumont Community Players will be putting on the Winter Wonderettes and a Christmas Story all through the month. You can also get tickets for performances of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the Musical and Disney Junior Holiday Party. Check our events calendar to stay up to date with everything going on for a December to remember!
