Sandwiched between the other holidays coming in hot is everyone’s favorite commercialized holiday – the chaos that is Black Friday. Whether you love it or hate it, it signifies that ready or not, it’s time to get your Christmas shopping on. And if you need a blueprint for your holiday gifts this season – we got you. Here’s where to find something for everyone on your list, support our local boutiques, and be the holiday hero. Just be sure to whisper those five magical words, “I got it on sale.”
Boston Avenue – Our motto is if you need it, you’ll find it in Nederland. Boston Avenue is a one-stop-shop for gifts. Looking for cute accessories like statement earrings, clutches, or handmade soaps that make great stocking stuffers? Head to Sassy Trendz. Baubles and Bliss also have unique jewelry including headbands and personalized charm bracelets. If you’re on a budget, you never know what treasures you might dig up at Glory B’s Consignment Boutique, which has both clothing and vintage home décor. Home accents can also be scooped up from Chatzkies Home Decor, Etc, which has everything from furniture to garden accents and matching mommy and me outfits if you’re looking to step up your holiday cards this year.
Fred Miller’s Unique Gifts – If you’re looking for that one of a kind hostess gift, Fred Miller’s, also in Nederland, is where you’ll find it. Home to everything from kitchen collectibles and serving platters to gourmet foods, books, and holiday decorations, there’s everything from statement to accent pieces.
The Mildred Building – Home to an eclectic array of retail, the Mildred Building in downtown Beaumont is another good spot to scope out gifts (plus, it’s an excuse to have lunch at Katherine & Co.). Down to Earth has a wide selection of essential oils, teas, bath and body products, and aromatherapies, while Finder’s Fayre has decorative clocks, wall art, and desk accessories, and Ella + Scott boasts trendy women’s clothing for the fashionistas on your list.
Parkdale Mall – If you’re willing to brave the mall, they’re open on Black Friday from 7 am – 9 pm and have holiday haps going on all month. You can get your picture taken with Santa (reservations required) November 19-December 24 and even bring your pets for their Santa Paws Photo Nights (November 22, November 29, December 6, and December 13).
Main Street Market – If you’d rather wait until after the Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday chaos has died down to do your shopping, Main Street Market is a good option the following week. A pop-up event December 2-4, over 100 specially curated Texas vendors will be on hand to showcase their wares down Candy Cane Lane. Available to buy will be specialty foods, handmade jewelry, and children’s items along with live music and entertainment. Proceeds benefit the Junior League of Beaumont so you can feel good knowing you’re checking everyone off your list while shopping for a cause.
